Thanksgiving Turkeys

Let me get this out of the way now….this post has nothing to do with the country of Turkey.
I was working on a film around Thanksgiving time last year with my friends Dennis Provost and Mike Ruocco on a turkey farm in Santa Barbara, California. I just got around to finishing our final edit thanks in large part to a constant rain here in Istanbul for the past few weeks (more to come on this in a future post).
We wanted to make a short film documenting what takes place on a turkey farm around Thanksgiving time. We realized very quickly that we weren’t actually covering a ‘normal’ turkey farm and our focus shifted to making a film that makes people think about where that bird on your table each November actually comes from.
Thanks to Katherine for her help with this project and more importantly her patience.
Thanks for looking.

Great video… its too bad about the rain but you’ve got something pretty awesome to show for it.

Hi Johnny, I loved this video. There is something beautiful about treating the animals we eat with respect. Britt

AWESOME VIDEO. Makes me want to go to Boston Market for lunch. Some of those birds looked good to go right in the oven. Sometimes I wish I were in animal agriculture instead of law.
And yes, I’ve bookmarked the video.
